How long does a house take to sell?
ByWell, here’s the idea “my plain” I want to put up my house somewhere in February 10, (next year) and sell it before my kid goes to school the next year after. So I want to sell it during the summer QUICK! Is that possible? And also, how long does it take to move your job to one city to another? Please answer these questions reasonably thank you.

The length of time of sale of your home will depend on how aggressive you price it. You can put it up for sale now and just tell the buyer your move out time line. it usually takes 2 to 3 months to execute a transaction once you have found a buyer.
Your job move can be very quick if there are openings in the new job market.

You can ask your local realtor what the average number of days a house is listed on the market before it sells. This will give you an idea of what to expect. You can also ask what is the sales to listing ratio. This will indicate a market trend you can follow until your ready to list your home. Spring is usually better than summer to sell in most areas.

Unfortunately, it is very hard to predict how the market is going to turn. Right now, there are very few people buying new houses, mostly speculators, and they want a good deal because they know people are pretty desperate to sell their homes. Right now we know the market is not good. By February 10 the market might be better. Now, about selling it quickly, you never know how is going to be looking for a house. Look at the average time a home sells (ask your Realtor).

There’s some pretty good tips on how to sell your house within 21 days here. There’s a fee for the package but it is worth it from what I understand as there is a money back guarantee.
