How can a voluntary repossession hurt you?
Posted by: | CommentsMy husband and I live in a crap, crap, crap, did I mention crap mobile home. Well, now we need to buy a house becuase our place is falling apart and I hate that my son has to grow up in such a POS. Anyway, we still owe on this place but KNOW that no one will pay a penny for this place. So, I’m wondering if my husband agreed to a voluntary repossession and we got the mortgage in my name how bad would that hurt us?

How will a voluntary repossession affect my credit?
Posted by: | CommentsI took out an auto loan for my brother to get a car last Feb. He failed to pay, so I took the car back and have been making payments for the last three months. I’ve listed the car for sale several times on Ebay, in the local newspaper, and now on autotrader with no luck so far. I have a new car myself that I am also paying on. I don’t need two cars and I can’t afford to keep paying for two vehicles. How will a voluntary repossession affect my credit since I am paying for another vehicle? Will it repair itself as long as I am paying on another car? I know that the bank will auction the car. If I pay the deficiency, will the repossession still go on my credit? I have very good credit and I really don’t want to ruin it, which is why I’ve paid on the car for this long. I am in the market to buy a house. Will a repossession affect my getting a home loan?

Government propping up builders and potential repossession folk?
Posted by: | CommentsIs anyone else peed off that our taxes are to pay to prop up builders and potential reposession folk who can’t manage their own finances.
I bought a pokey little house 5 years ago in case a housing slump happens. I am no economist, just a working single mum trying legally to do the best for her family without taking benefits from others.
I do not have a house to get a home equity loan. I don’t know WHAT to do! What can I do? Who can I call to prevent me and my baby from walking and making my poor credit even worse? PLEASE HELP!

House Repossessions – Baliffs, Owners?
Posted by: | CommentsRe-Draft Of Former Question..
Hey, in this current climate where people are being thrown out of there own homes, I thought I’d ask a question about it. There was a documentary I had meant to watch about it, but forgot…so YahooAnswers was my next port of call.
In the documentary trailer, one guy said, along the lines of “I don’t care, I’m staying in my own home, no matter what they say”
My question…..What happens here? My main thought was that that guy had lost everything, his investments, his house, probably his job, so he literally had dole and nothing more, what would happen if he were to destroy his own house, i.e giving the baliffs as little to collect as possible. If he has no money, then he is free from any debt demands for the damage.
The government bailed out big financial institutions to stop them failing and going bankrupt, so surely that means the government should again intervene, to stop house owners going bankrupt? If not, why not?
Many thanks in advance,
How does home foreclosure work?
Posted by: | CommentsIf you fail to make your mortgage payments, can the bank garnish your wages for the payments?Or do they just take repossession of the home and auction it off themselves? And if they just auction it and can’t sell it for enough to cover the remaining mortgage amount, can they come back and sue you for that, even if you no longer have access to the home?I’m asking because I need to know…if a person decided to deliberately stop making payments on their home mortgage because the home will not sell on the market quick enough and they have to move out of state, what are the repurcussions?(Besides bad credit)The goal is to just get rid of the house, regardless of the loss in profit from the sale of it, and regardless of how it will effect the homeowner’s credit. Please provide any information pertaining to this.

my neighbours are facing repossession. How could i help them pay their mortgage ?
Posted by: | Commentsif i were to pay towards their mortgage, what could i do to make sure i didn’t lose my money? could i own a percentage of their house (til they payed me back) and could i make it impossible to take out any other loans secured on the house (which would make it higher risk)
How do I go about finding houses for auction?
Posted by: | CommentsI know that in the UK, there are repossessions and such where the houses are sold off via auction. How would I find out where they are or if there are any in my area? Also, how would I go about bidding? Is it difficult to do this? Would I need a loan/mortgage in place before bidding? Please answer all these parts of the question and tell me any other information you know. Thankyou.
