UK Recession?

Have you or anyone you know been affected by the UK recession that’s in the news daily, none of the people I spoken to have been affected, nor have their friends and families?
The company I work for has never been busier, my barber’s taken on 2 extra people in the last weeks to cope with the extra business, and try to get a table Thurs-Sunday in any restaurant in London, so where’s the recession hitting?
Sorry for being so thoughtless, realise now that for some, the resession is very real and affects them every day.

How did events in America cause the UK to go into recession?

Ive got an assignment and although i understand the concept of globalisation im still not sure exactly how the US housing market affected the UK. Ive heard that Lehman brothers and other investors have assetts here in the Uk but can someone be more specific and explain which firms have assetts where and other factors of how the events in the US made the UK go into recession.
Try not to give Generalised answers and 1 liners please and be specific.

i find the goverment is stuck in a rut with anti smoking saying it costs the NHS loads and loads. LOL without smokers this country would be even more F’ed up because smoking brings in so much tax. Perhaps this is a sign they really do need smokers after all and to stop moaning.
