link between the Recession and Educational system?
Posted by: | CommentsAre school one of the major reasons for the foreclosure rise in the county?
In your answer discuss
Higer property taxes caused by
Rising salaries of teachers
rising cost of useless services (sensativity training)
useless training of teachers
increased security at schools
encouraging everyone to go to college (for personal gain of principal and guidance counselors at the expense of students) therefore taking money out of the economy
Colleges
tuition raisign at 2 times the rate of inflation for the last 30 years
not providing low cost loans to students
lying about job statistics
outrageous costs to sent professors to “conferences” in Hawaii
millions spent on sensitivity programs and patronage programs
high cost loans
the resulting student loan payments reduce the number of people with money to buy houses. 20 years ago a 30 year old could buy a house now educational debt has made this nearly impossible therefore less potential buyers +baby boomers wanting to leave the north east leads to lower house prices leads to foreclosures and recession.
Thank me for showing you the light.
Government Loans or Grants?
Posted by: | CommentsDoes anyone know if there are Government Grants, or even low cost loans out there for someone to start up their business?? If so… can you help me find that information?
I will be going back to school next year, it’s a 3 year accelareted nursing program which cost 31k a year. See the problem on top of that is I need to take out child care expenses and living expenses because it’s a very demanding program and getting a part time job is going to be hard cause I have a child.
We have a very low offer on our house, which we are still trying to negotiate. but the market has collapsed, and I worry that if we don’t take the offer, we could get stuck. I think we can get the buyer up a little, but it would still be 5-10 thousand off our “target” price.
Would selling for less still be better than potentially not selling and having to take out a bridge loan? I am having trouble finding out the real cost of those loans.
Do You agree? If there is a nursing shortage, lets import them as guest workers?
Posted by: | Commentsas opposed to perhaps, lets get more our young people to go to school to learn that and help them with their education with low cost loans?????
If we need more engineers, lets get import them or lets get more of our kids to go to college to be engineers and lets give them incentives to do so.
Which approach is the one that seems like we care more about our own country and our own citizens?
Economic Effects of the Subprime Loan Crisis to Borrowers?
Posted by: | CommentsA disproportionate number of subprime loans are solicited and given to minority borrowers mentioned in Senator Obama’s letter to the Federal Trade Commissioner.
Here’s the website of that letter: http://obama.senate.gov/press/071018-obama_demands_i/
Using the theory of “investment and financial intermediation,” what are the related economic effects to the borrowers who are given these loans. What’s the economic effect of limited choices to the individuals (the opportunity cost)? How will these loan borrowers get out of this housing market crisis? Obviously, they were misled & were not offered low-cost loans in the 1st place. What do you think?
3 of you who responded didn’t understand my question (”Elton S, Deborah A. & Melissa”). I was NOT asking for help nor who to contact. I simply wanted to know your thoughts on those who are affected by the subprime loan crisis. So far, “Economist (trying)” was able to express his opinion to my question.
“Melissa,” your reply is NOT relevant to my question.

Government Grants For Real Estate Investors?
Posted by: | CommentsI buy foreclosed houses from HUD and rehabilitate them. Is there a reasonably simple way to apply for funding to continue this business? I am interested in either low cost loans or government grants. All the .gov sites are dozens of pages of legal jargon and I can’t tell if I am qualified for anything or not. The “grant funding search” site appears to be a scam. Any suggestions?

Finding a Good Credit Union in Baltimore?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m looking into getting myself started up financial. I’ve heard that Credit Unions are a much better way to go when your just starting off rather than working with banks. So I’d like to find a good Credit Union. Does anybody know of any good credit unions in Baltimore, Maryland? It should be open to the public and not have any special requirements to join. I’d like it to have good services for everything i.e. Checking Accounts, Savings Accounts, CD’s, and Low-Cost Loans. I’ve been considering starting up some business’s so if it was small business friendly that would be a plus too!
I’d like to know of a good Credit Union people have had personal experiences with. (Not just suggesting finders!) Can some people refer a Credit Union from personal experience? I also live near the Homewood Hopkins campus and would prefer to find something close to there.
